Welcome to Neev

What Neev is and how this help is organised — the operating system that replaces your WhatsApp + Excel + Tally + register-book stack.

Overview

Neev is the WhatsApp-native operating system for your distribution business — not another billing app, not a desktop ERP. It replaces the WhatsApp + Excel + Tally + register-book stack and puts orders, inventory, money, and customers in one place, on your phone. Built for traders moving FMCG, textiles, hardware, agri-inputs, and building materials across North and Central India. An order arrives as a WhatsApp text, a photo of a chit, or a Hindi voice note; Neev turns it into a clean draft order, you review, you ship.

Where to find it

Open Neev in your browser and you land on Home — the route depends on your role. Owners go to /home, managers to /home-manager, accountants to /home-accountant. The left sidebar is your map, grouped the way the day runs:

  • WORKSPACE — Home, Insights
  • INTAKE — Intake Inbox (/intake), Review (/intake-review), Conversations (/whatsapp)
  • SELL — Orders (/orders), Quotations, Customers, Standing orders
  • FULFILL — Inventory, Shipping, Returns, Suppliers
  • MONEY — Invoices, Payments, Pricing, Approvals
  • DATA — Notifications, Reports, Audit log
  • SYSTEM — Settings

On the phone, the field surface lives under /m — a separate mobile shell built for sales reps, delivery riders, warehouse hands, and owners on the move. The sidebar only shows what your role can open, so two people on the same workspace may see different menus.

Key concepts

A few terms make the rest of this help make sense.

  • The spine is the universal core every distributor needs — orders, inventory, customers, suppliers, invoicing, payments. It is the same for every Neev tenant.
  • Neev is built in layers: Platform (tenancy, login, roles, audit log, the event bus) sits under Core (the spine), which sits under Capabilities (opt-in add-ons), which sit under Packs (Pharma, Dairy, Quick Commerce — vertical or operational bundles your owner installs).
  • Multi-channel order intake is the hero workflow: an order that arrives as a Telegram message or an email — typed text, a photo of a chit, or a voice note — becomes a structured draft order, with items matched to your catalog, the customer resolved, and price and GST applied. (WhatsApp and SMS intake are on the roadmap.)
  • The look and feel is the Curiously Bold design system: pink for the one main action per screen, black ink, off-white page, and six pastel accents that each carry a meaning (lavender for invoices, mint for returns, butter for money, peach for customers, sky for conversations, mauve for orders).

Common workflows

1
Sign in and land on Home
Open Neev. You arrive on the home page for your role, with today's date and your live counts up top.
2
Find a screen from the sidebar
Use the grouped left menu — INTAKE, SELL, FULFILL, MONEY, DATA. Only the screens your role can open are shown.
3
Turn a message into an order
Go to Intake Inbox, open a WhatsApp message, and let Neev draft the order; review the lines and confirm.
4
Switch to the phone for the field
Sales, delivery, and warehouse staff use the mobile surface under /m — billing, picking, and delivery built for one thumb.

Role notes

Every screen is gated by your workspace role. What you can see and do is set by the permissions your role holds — here is the short version.

Owner holds every non-Pack permission in the workspace — full control of settings, team, roles, and the spine. Pack powers (Pharma, Dairy, Quick Commerce) only switch on for the owner once the owner installs that Pack.

Manager runs day-to-day operations end to end — intake, orders, returns, customers, inventory, pricing, invoicing — but cannot void invoices, cannot install Packs, and cannot touch team, roles, or workspace settings. That tenant-admin power is the owner's alone.

Operator is the front-desk order-taker: look up stock and price and key in a draft order. An operator cannot confirm or advance that order, cannot edit the customer master, and cannot touch stock or money.

Accountant owns finance and collections — record payments, generate invoice PDFs, and read financial and Tally reports. An accountant does not raise or void invoices and has no operational access at all: no creating or processing orders, inventory, or returns.

Warehouse works the stock and dispatch floor: receive goods, run adjustments and batch moves, pack orders, and receive returned goods. A warehouse hand packs an order but does not create, confirm, or dispatch it, and sees no money screens.

Delivery is the most restricted role — read-only on exactly two screens, orders and the invoice that travels with them. Despite the name, the delivery role does not mark dispatch and cannot collect payment.

Sales owns the front of the sales motion: parse and create draft orders, manage customers and their addresses, run quotations, and chat on WhatsApp. Sales sees inventory and pricing read-only, cannot change list prices, and cannot view invoices.

Tips & time-savers

Tip
A customer's WhatsApp order — typed, a photo of a chit, or a voice note — can go straight into the Intake Inbox and come back as a draft order. No retyping into Tally or Excel.

Working on a laptop all day? Toggle the screen between Cozy and Dense with Ctrl\\ to fit more rows on screen — Neev remembers your choice.

Gotchas

Warning
Can't find a screen you expected? It is almost always your role, not a bug. Neev hides every menu item and route your role can't open, and if you type a restricted URL it sends you back to your home page. Ask your owner to adjust your role if you need more access.
